Macedonia Day Six

Thursday, September 19          Fun, Food, Fellowship & Foundations
Pozdrav do tebe! Today our team started our morning with team devotions.Chelsea led us this morning in a song of worship and her personal testimony. What a joy to hear how the Lord is working in her life. We've loved this time as a team every morning. It has been such an encouraging time for all of us to begin our day. How do you begin your day? What motivates you to get up each morning?

Afterwards, we headed to Old Town Skopje for a day of history and culture of Macedonia. Did you know that Alexander the Great was the King of Macedonia? He was one of the world's greatest military generals creating a vast empire that stretched from Macedonia to Egypt and from Greece to India. Alexander considered himself a Macedonian Greek representing all Greeks. There are tons of contribution statues all over the city of Alexander. We enjoyed seeing these sights today of the fountain statue and walked over the famous Stone Bridge which stretches over the Vardar River. We also visited an Orthodox church before we headed to lunch to meet the rest of the SEND Team in Macedonia

We enjoyed a wonderful lunch with Lynne, Noelle, Ahna. and Allen along with Ron, Lisa and our team in an beautiful outdoor cafe. We also encountered a few of the gypsies (hold onto your belongings!). As we have shared before, lunch is the biggest meal of the day. Food is served on giant platters, buffet style at the table everything from sausage, lamb, chicken, beef, bread, vegetables and salad. Enjoy the pictures because we were stuffed & what wonderful, encouraging conversations & fellowship we had !
After lunch we did some walking and shopping around Old Town Skopje. We have enjoyed with wonderful cool weather- sorry Texas, but we don't miss the heat one bit! We also tried Turkish Delight
After our day of history, we returned to the apartments and prepped for our evening English Conversation class. This evening the topic was Our Health.  Our team enjoyed teaching our English conversations and finishing up the prep work for our American party tomorrow night. Here's a few pictures that we could grab from the evening.
After our classes, we headed over to the ice cream shop for some delicious dessert and fellowship before heading back to the apartments for the night. Our team agrees that it is such a joy to serve with our amazing missionaries, Ron and Lisa.
