Training Day - Angelina

๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ˜ Hi guys! My name is Angelina Cortes. A little bit about me, Iโ€™m homeschooled and a junior in high school, and this is my first year going on the Costa Rica Missions Trip!

In this entry, Iโ€™m going to be giving you a quick summary of our last meeting. We did something different in this meeting and met at the Lindstrom's house. We started the meeting off by going over group management and flexibility within our teams.

Then we did an activity and paired up into partners. The gist of the game was to sit back to back with your partner and take turns drawing on a piece of paper every 30 or so seconds without being able to talk or look at the other and youโ€™d end up with a very interesting drawing after about 5 minutes. Mine started as a sock and ended up looking like a shoe with a music note attached to the lace. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Later on, we broke into our groups for Costa Rica (mine was the blog team) and we took time to go over our goals, plan out tasks, and ask questions. Iโ€™ve never read, let alone written a blog, but this part of the meeting made me realize that I wasnโ€™t the only one who felt clueless about my tasks. Usually, if I don't understand something, Iโ€™ll keep that to myself and figure it out on my own. But this allowed me to make the apparently not-so-uncomfortable decision to reach out to my team members and ask for help in understanding!

To finish off, I want to remind you that our amazing God made each of us with our own unique strengths that we often disregard because we think โ€œHow is that a strength?โ€. But donโ€™t think that! We are called to use those strengths in our community and our day-to-day lives to glorify his kingdom, so why should we hide them?

Prayer requests:
  • Pray each Costa Rica team can complete their tasks in preparation for this trip
  • Praise for all the funding that weโ€™ve received and prayers that the Lord provides even more funding
