Dubai Teaching Day Seven

Dubai Teaching Day Seven

Friday, May 3, 2024
We can't believe that it is Friday already! We began this conference last Saturday, and we have our last two full days of teaching.
Psalm 122 “I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of the LORD.” Our feet are standing within your gates, O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that is built as a city that is compact together; to which the tribes go up even the tribes of the LORD- an ordinance of Israel-to give thanks to the name of the LORD. For their thrones were set for judgment, the thrones of the house of David. Pray for peace of Jerusalem; May they prosper who love you. May peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces. For the sake of my brothers and my friends, I will now say, “May peace be within you”. For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your good.”
This morning, we began our time of worship singing Psalm 122. Then we continued in our study of Revelation. Jeremy began his lesson discussing the Return of Jesus, including the description of Jesus’ coming, the Battle of Armageddon, and the details given to us. Jeremy reminded us of the awesome power of Jesus and how different his Second coming will be from His First coming. We applied this lesson as to what believers should be doing until Jesus returns. What should we be doing?  We continue to share the gospel and live each day like He is coming back today!
After Jeremy's lesson, we had tea time.  Our leaders love their tablets and and teaching materials.
After Tea Time, Martin taught a lesson on the Millennium. We looked at the Scriptural basis for an actual earthly reign of Messiah, the Characteristics of the Millennium as predicted through the Old Testament Prophets (Isaiah, Ezekiel, Amos, Micah, Joel, Zephaniah, Jeremiah & Zechariah) and some divergent Theological views. In our discussions, we recognize that as Detectives there are still some mysteries as we study,. So what do we do? We trust God and let Scripture interpret Scripture as we study these details.
After Martin's lesson, AJ taught his lesson on the Eternal State. This includes the descriptions of the New Heaven and New Earth, the New Jerusalem and Eternal Life. Little did our FB team and leaders know that AJ has a hidden talent in his "Bob Ross" pictures! As we read AJ drew the descriptions written in the Book of Revelation Chapter 21. We were reminded that Scripture seems to indicate that when believers die, they go to heaven to be with Jesus. Heaven is described as place of worship where angels and believers alike will witness God at work and sing thunderous praises to Him for everything that He is doing. There will be believers from every age, all anticipating the final restoration of all things. On that day, God will destroy the old heaven and the old earth.
After our lovely lunch, Martin taught topics on Rapture, Life After Death for the believer, and the Bema or Judgement Seat of Christ.
Our afternoon breakout session with the ladies was phenomenal. We are all learning so much from God's Word and each other. Even though culture and language may be different, we are so grateful that God's Word cuts through all cultures to His absolute truth. We have enjoyed being in God's Word together for a time of encouragement and growth. Jennifer and Denise presented a gift to the ladies, books to help them continue in their study of God's Word. We made sure that each book was different so that they can create a community library. The ladies were incredibly grateful. We know that they will use these resources as they continue to teach in their women's ministries. We pray that this leadership conference will strengthen them individually and bring them in community with each other. They really did not know each other very well prior to the beginning of the conference on Saturday. Just as we are writing this, our own Frisco Bible ladies fellowship is preparing for the Women's Retreat this weekend. We pray all the way across the ocean for our sisters in Christ that the Women's retreat will be a time of strengthening and encouragement.
Several of us enjoy afternoon walks around the city and channel. The rain brought some coolness to the weather. We are so grateful.  We also love seeing some familiar signs and stores that we recognize.
We do have a prayer requests for our team and our Pakistani brothers and sisters. Many are becoming sick due to the contamination of water. We had a few need to leave class because they were not feeling well. We are having a large church service tomorrow evening as the church worships on Saturday night. Please pray for health and that the gospel will be received. We are excited to share more with you tomorrow.
